Margot Voorhies
Licensed Acupuncturist and Certified Chinese Herbalist
Margot Voorhies (LAc, Dipl.Ac, Dipl.CH) specializes in treating women’s health conditions and fertility. She combines current research in reproductive medicine with Traditional Chinese Medicine for women’s health and enhancing fertility Margot completed post-graduate training in fertility with Randine Lewis, author of The Infertility Cure, Bob Flaws, Angela Hywood, and most recently with Jane Lyttleton, author of Treatment of Infertility with Chinese Medicine. Margot was published in the fall 2006 issue of Family Building magazine, the quarterly publication of RESOLVE, a national infertility support group. She wrote about the use of Chinese Herbal Medicine for fertility enhancement. Margot was also featured in the article “Fertile Ground” about alternative treatments for fertility in the May 2007 issue of Seattle Magazine.
Prior to practicing at Acupuncture Northwest and Associates, Margot worked with gynecology and fertility patients in private practice. She traveled to China in the fall of 2004 to work in the Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine clinic at the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing. While in Beijing, she trained with Dr. Han Bin in Qi Gong. Margot returned to Beijing in the spring of 2007 to continue work in the Beijing clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Margot is licensed and national board certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She completed her bachelor's degree in Biology, completing pre-medical courses along with a double major in Art Margot received her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA in 2003. While attending Bastyr, she received additional training in Western medicinal herbs, Nutrition, Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Margot’s roots are in the Northwest, and she enjoys being active in the outdoors skiing, hiking, and biking and practicing yoga on the rainy days. |
