4th Trimester – Postpartum
Acupuncture and the 4th Trimester – Postpartum
Postpartum acupuncture and Chinese medicine can help you regain you. As a new mother, your baby has been born but there are still many changes taking place in your system that can affect every part of your life. Perhaps you had a difficult or traumatic delivery or problems come up during the postnatal period that seem to linger. While a routine exam is done by your doctor at six weeks, this may be brief and may not address your emotional health. Full recovery can take 3-6 months.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has always been very firm in the idea that the new mother take extra special care of herself postpartum in order to regain her health. Postpartum acupuncture and Chinese medicine are an integral part of a woman’s recovery.
Chinese medicine doesn’t end when the baby arrives. As you nurture your baby, try to also nurture yourself. Your baby needs you at full strength! And acupuncture can help you regain and maintain your health for a lifetime. See our wellness section for more information on Chinese medicine and disease prevention.
