About Andrea
Andrea Iwi’ula (E-Vee-oo-lah) earned her Masters of Science in Acupuncture from Bastyr University, a leading academic center for natural health sciences. As a licensed and nationally certified Acupuncturist since 1998, she is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM),the Washington East Asian Medicine Association (WEAMA) and is licensed in both Washington and New York State.
Combining her extensive training in 5-Element theory, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a foundation in Western sciences, Andrea delivers a unique style of acupuncture that provides a holistic approach to health care while being rooted in research and physiology. Along with Acupuncture, she offers dietary advice, nutritional and herbal support as well as the utilization of East Asian Medicine healing modalities like Moxibustion, cupping, Qi-Gong and gua-sha.
Andrea’s areas of focus include Fertility Enhancement and Assisted Reproductive Technologies, anxiety/depression/stress relief, pain management and Facial Rejuvenation.
She is passionate about her craft and has been actively involved in furthering the Washington State acupuncture community and advancing her education for over a decade.
Andrea, We received some very happy news this week…. I’m pregnant! We are over the moon with joy. Thank you so much for all your efforts with these treatments to bring healing to my body since this past June. I KNOW that my time, energy and financial resources were not wasted and I’m grateful I found your clinic and that we were able to avoid the IVF process. We were planning to start that process next month. Right around the time I believe I conceived, I had an ultrasound that week and the large cyst we were treating had completely disappeared and there were no signs of inflammation. A perfect environment for conception.

2013 | Received Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine from Bastyr University. Andrea formulates Chinese herbal preparations that are unique and specialized for your individual constitution.
2009-2011 | Member, Board of the Washington East Asian Medicine Association (WEAMA) where she successfully worked to pass legislation to update and expand the scope of practice for Acupuncturists in Washington State (the first legal update in 24 years).
2007-2011 | Adjunct Professor, Bastyr University, Masters of Science Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, teaching Jurisprudence and Practice Management.
2010 | Completed advanced coursework in 5-Element Acupuncture with Lonny Jarret, internationally recognized author, practitioner, and teacher of Chinese medicine and author of Nourishing Destiny and The Clinical Practice of Chinese Medicine.
2005 | Completed five year program in ancient Hawaiian culture, spirituality, energetics, and healing modalities and their use in modern society, including intense study of Lomi Kino body work and Kahea.
2003 | Studied technique, diagnosis and treatment of underlying causes of premature aging and skin revitalization to become Facial Rejuvenation practitioner (Acupuncture “facelift”).
2001 | Completed advanced coursework in ToyoHari (a subtle style of acupuncture originating from Japan).

I would recommend Andrea to anyone!!! I began seeing her to help regulate cycles and increase fertility as my own methods of trying to get pregnant were unsuccessful. It was my first experience with acupuncture and I was initially hesitant about it, but after my first couple visits I couldn't imagine not continuing. Andrea was so positive and reassuring she was the first person that gave me hope that I could still be a mother in the near future. I've been seeing Andrea at Acupuncture Northwest for about 5 months now. I was looking for ways to enhance my fertility naturally and my OBGYN recommended her and this practice. It was the best decision I could have made. At my first appointment Andrea dove into why I was there, what my fertility goals were and ways she could help. She answered all of my questions and gave me handouts (and even a book about acupuncture) all with information around nutrition and vitamins that could also help me along my fertility journey. I left that appointment feeling hopeful and positive and immediately felt like this was the place for me. After seeing Andrea weekly, I began to notice a more regular cycle and after 3.5 months I got pregnant! Now I'm seeing her to help with nausea in my first trimester and I will continue to see Andrea throughout my pregnancy. The acupuncture itself was obviously great for me, but I truly think the help and support Andrea has given me over the past 5 months has been just as valuable.

I started seeing Andrea in 2011 after our health fair. I was going to see her for stress but then we started talking about fertility and decided that she could really help out in that area also. We got pregnant in 2012 and I saw Andrea thru the entire pregnancy. NO MORNING SICKNESS and such a great help with relaxation and just helping me out emotionally. Our girl was born in December and I know that Andrea helped with that whole process.
Second child update…We decided we wanted to try for one more before I was “too old†and we started seeing Andrea again in June of 2014 and by end of July we had a positive test. Since the due date is stating we got pregnant in June I know Andrea helped with that … We are at 15 weeks and since our first came early, she is seeing me a bit more to help keep the pre-eclampsia away. She is such a blessing and I would highly recommend her for either relaxation or ESPECIALLY fertility. She will always be my acupuncturist and I am so blessed for having met her!
